INCORE Blog – Call for Contributions
INCORE (https://www.ulster.ac.uk/incore) at Ulster University's Derry-Londonderry Campus is inviting contributions for a new series of short, accessible blog posts that explore how peace and conflict are lived, understood and negotiated in different places and communities.
We are particularly interested in research that looks at the everyday and community-based dimensions of peacebuilding, sometimes described as peacebuilding from below. This includes work on how people navigate division, rebuild relationships or create new forms of connection in contexts shaped by conflict or social tension. We also welcome contributions that reflect more broadly on peacebuilding, memory, identity and social change.
The blog will be linked to the INCORE website.
Who should submit
This call is aimed at academic researchers who would like to share their work in a clear and public facing way.
Submissions should aim to summarise recently published research, share insights from ongoing projects or communicate findings from recently completed or near completion PhDs.
Unfortunately, opinion pieces are not suitable for the blog.
What to submit
We welcome writing from across disciplines. Contributions may draw on case studies, fieldwork, theoretical/conceptual perspectives or collaborative work with communities and practitioners. The main aim is to communicate research in a way that is engaging and accessible for a wide online international readership.
Possible areas of focus
Possible areas of focus include everyday practices that support coexistence in divided or post conflict settings, the role of language or cultural identity in shaping relationships, memory or storytelling as ways of understanding conflict, migration and belonging, grassroots or creative initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing, perspectives from groups whose contributions are often overlooked and reflections on reconciliation, conflict transformation or social repair. These suggestions are not restrictive.
If your research offers insight into how people experience or shape peace and conflict, we are happy to consider it.
